We recognize the challenges church leaders face—limited resources, burnout, isolation, and the decline of church engagement—and position ourselves as guides with empathy and competency. Having built relationships with church leaders across various contexts, we offer dependable United Methodist theology and practical solutions. Our goal is to transform overwhelmed and isolated ministry leaders into empowered and equipped servants who can effectively live out the Great Commission in today’s world.

Our Story

In 1990, the Church of the Resurrection was the vision of a 25-year-old pastor named Adam Hamilton with bold dreams of reaching non-religious and nominally religious people in southern Kansas City who were not involved in a church.  Against prevailing wisdom, the church made its first home in a small chapel of a local funeral home.  As a small team of leaders gathered to plan the launch of this new church, they shared big hopes and dreams that this church would become a place where people would meet Jesus Christ, grow in their faith, experience authentic Christian community, and be inspired to live their faith in the world. The church’s name, Resurrection, points to the hope that the church seeks to radiate to our community.

Part of Resurrection’s vision from day 1 has been to be used by God to strengthen churches. To live out that vision, Resurrection made the commitment to start giving away everything we learned. ShareChurch was born out of that commitment. Since 1998, we’ve been hosting events, sharing resources, building relationships, and prayerfully asking God to use us to strengthen churches.

Sharing What Works for 25+ Years

In 1990 Resurrection was a small, upstart church with a big dream of becoming a church that welcomes thinking people who were not actively involved in a church. From the very beginning, we’ve been committed to sharing everything we learn to fulfill our vision of strengthening churches
