Welcoming the stranger sits at the heart of the gospel. Yet over time, even the warmest churches can grow comfortable, friendly to the people already inside and, without meaning to, a little hard to break into for everyone else.
Changing that isn’t one person’s job. It takes a pastor casting vision and building the systems, along with people who are at the door every Sunday with a smile and a name tag. When the whole team shares the same calling and the same language, hospitality stops being a program and becomes part of who you are.
That’s why the Art of Hospitality works best when you come together. Over two days at Church of the Resurrection, you’ll explore why hospitality matters, practice the habits that help guests feel noticed and welcome, and get real help finding volunteers who serve out of calling, not obligation. Then you’ll have the trip home to start planning what comes next, together.
