Session Descriptions:

Restorative Relief

Led by: Patrick McLaughlin and Suzy Ayers

In this session Patrick and Suzy will talk about partnership efforts that focus on listening to the community and restoring it to the image of God’s Kingdom. This first step towards building this just community is also a way to initiate a journey of the head, heart, and hands of volunteers wanting to live out their discipleship.

Education Ministry

Led by: Carol Cartmill and Roberta Lyle

Key to closing the opportunity gaps in communities is investing in the education of children. For years, Church of the Resurrection has partnered with local schools in under-resourced areas of our city, and with global schools around the world where we have long-term partnerships. In this session, we’ll look at what it takes to build strategic relationships with school administrators, and how to come alongside teachers and school staff to support their efforts to help their students succeed in school. We’ll also share our latest focus on quality Pre-K education, helping our youngest children get off to a good start in life.

Global Ministries

Led by: Sheree Reece and Joyce Appel

In this session you will learn how to engage internationally in Mutual Mission. What is mutuality, why is it important, and how do you achieve it? Between cultural differences, power dynamics, language barriers, and thousands of miles in separation (especially during a pandemic) what can you do today to build an equitable partnership that endures?

Community Justice

Led by: Cheryl Jefferson Bell and Lindsey Arnold Seevers

In June 2020, Resurrection’s Church Council unanimously approved a statement of Church of the Resurrection’s Vision for Racial Justice. This statement was developed by a diverse group of volunteer leaders and staff, led by Rev. Cheryl Jefferson Bell, after prayerful discernment over every word. In this session you will hear from Rev. Bell about her own justice journey, the importance of having difficult conversations in our churches, and the future of the Community Justice ministry at Resurrection.

What People Are Saying

Thank you, thank you, thank you!  We are shifting so much to meet the needs of our community during this time that we have really been stretching our staff resources.  I am so grateful for your willingness to share – not just the content, but also the time it took just to reply (and so quickly!)!  Really, thanks!

Darren R.

Sharechurch is such valuable resource to us all.  I find that I access it first on many topics just to begin my research, or to confirm if we are on the right track on a number of topics.  Thank you and COR for providing this to us all.
